The arrest took place around 4:53 a.m. Tuesday after Stamford Police received a complaint of two men stealing used cooking oil from 184 Summer St., said Lt. Michael A. Noto.

When officers with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations Property Crimes Division and patrol responded to the area dotted with numerous restaurants they found the two men, Jonathan J. Garces and Richard D. Tolentino both of Yonkers, attempting to leave the scene, Noto said.

Both men were arrested and charged with larceny, conspiracy at larceny and criminal trespass. They are being held on $10,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 10.

"This has been an ongoing issue for many of the restaurants in our area," Noto said.
